Witold Gombrowicz Signed Firsts: A Reference
Witold Gombrowicz (1904–1969) is the Polish novelist and playwright whose work obsessively explores immaturity, form, and the violence of social interaction. His novels — Ferdydurke, Trans-Atlantyk, Pornografia, Cosmos — are among the most formally inventive and intellectually provocative of the twentieth century. Gombrowicz spent most of his adult life in Argentine exile (1939–1963), giving his work a double outsider perspective.
