Tekkonkinkreet (originally titled Black & White) is Matsumoto’s most celebrated work — a manga serialized 1993–1994 about two orphan boys, Black and White, who rule the streets of Treasure Town, a decaying urban landscape threatened by yakuza redevelopment. The 2006 animated film adaptation, produced by Studio 4°C, is widely considered one of the finest anime films ever made.

English Edition

Viz published the complete story in a single collected volume (2007) under the Tekkonkinkreet: Black & White title. Earlier English publication by Viz used the Black & White title.
