Safe Area Goražde Signed First Edition Reference
Safe Area Goražde (Fantagraphics, 2000) is Sacco’s account of the besieged UN “safe area” of Goražde during the Bosnian War. Sacco visited the enclave multiple times between 1995 and 1996, documenting the experience of civilians trapped in a war zone that the international community claimed to be protecting. The book is often considered Sacco’s finest work — more focused and emotionally devastating than the earlier Palestine.
