Robert Crais Signed Firsts: A Reference

Robert Crais (born 1953) is the creator of Elvis Cole and Joe Pike — a detective partnership that has anchored one of the most popular and critically acclaimed series in modern American crime fiction. Cole is the wisecracking, literate detective; Pike is his silent, lethal partner. Together, they navigate the Los Angeles criminal landscape with a combination of humor, intelligence, and violence that has earned comparisons to Chandler and MacDonald.

Crais began his career as a television writer (working on Hill Street Blues and other shows) before transitioning to novels with The Monkey’s Raincoat (1987). He signs regularly at bookstore events and crime fiction conventions, particularly in Southern California.
