On Blue's Waters (1999) Signed First Edition Reference

On Blue’s Waters opens the Book of the Short Sun, the final trilogy in Gene Wolfe’s Solar Cycle. Published in 1999, the novel follows Horn — a minor character from the Long Sun — as he travels across the planet Blue in search of Patera Silk. The narration is Wolfe at his most challenging: Horn is writing a memoir but the question of who is actually writing, and whether Horn is really Horn, becomes increasingly central.

The Short Sun trilogy is considered by some Wolfe scholars to be his most complex achievement. The identity puzzles make even the New Sun’s unreliable narration seem straightforward by comparison.
