Omon Ra Signed First Edition Reference

Omon Ra (Tekst, Moscow, 1992; English: Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 1996) is Pelevin’s brilliant debut — a novella in which the entire Soviet space program is revealed to be an elaborate fraud, with cosmonauts manually operating “automated” spacecraft at the cost of their lives. The title character, named after the Egyptian sun god and a Soviet special forces unit, volunteers for a one-way mission to the moon. The novella is simultaneously a satire of Soviet ideology, a Buddhist parable about the illusion of reality, and a darkly comic adventure story.
