Mister Wonderful (2011) Signed First Edition Reference
Mister Wonderful began as a serial in the New York Times Magazine (2007–2008) — an extraordinary venue for a comics narrative — before being expanded and collected by Pantheon in 2011. The story follows Marshall, a nervous, self-conscious man on a blind date, with his internal monologue rendered in escalating anxiety spirals. It is Clowes’s most compact and formally unified work.
First Edition Identification
The 2011 Pantheon hardcover. First printing identifiable by number line. The New York Times Magazine serialization in its original newspaper format is a separate collectible.
