Marjane Satrapi Signed Firsts: A Reference
Marjane Satrapi (born 1969) is the Iranian-French cartoonist whose memoir Persepolis became one of the most widely read and culturally significant graphic novels in the world. Her spare, black-and-white drawing style — influenced by both Persian miniature painting and European cartooning — has made Persepolis a staple of school and university curricula internationally.
