Ka (Adelphi, 1996; English: Knopf, 1998, translated by Tim Parks) applies Calasso’s mythological method to Indian traditions — Vedic, Hindu, and Buddhist narratives retold as living, interconnected stories. The title refers to the Sanskrit interrogative pronoun “Ka” (who?), which becomes the name of Prajapati, the creator god.
