Jaime Hernandez & Gilbert Hernandez Signed Firsts: A Reference
Jaime Hernandez (born 1959) and Gilbert Hernandez (born 1957) are the brothers whose Love and Rockets is the longest-running and most important independent comic in American history. Published by Fantagraphics (1982–present, with hiatuses), the series showcases each brother’s distinct fictional universe: Jaime’s “Locas” stories set among the Chicana punk scene of Hoppers (a fictionalized Oxnard, California), and Gilbert’s “Palomar” stories set in a magical-realist Latin American village.
