The Heinlein Juveniles Reference (Scribner's Era)
Between 1947 and 1958, Heinlein published twelve young adult novels with Charles Scribner’s Sons. These “Heinlein Juveniles” are among the most collectible science fiction first editions — prized for their fine dust jacket artwork, their influence on generations of readers, and their increasing scarcity in collectible condition.

Collecting Notes
Dust jacket condition is critical. The Scribner’s jackets feature artwork by Clifford Geary and others that has become iconic. Price-clipped jackets, spine fading, and edge wear are common condition issues. A complete set of all twelve in fine/fine condition with dust jackets is one of the great achievements in SF collecting.
Heinlein’s thirteenth juvenile — Starship Troopers — was rejected by Scribner’s for its militaristic content and published by Putnam as an adult novel.
