Heaven's Prisoners (1988) Signed First Edition Reference
Heaven’s Prisoners was the second Dave Robicheaux novel, published by Henry Holt in 1988. When Robicheaux and his wife Annie witness a plane crash in the Gulf and rescue a young Salvadoran girl from the wreckage, the investigation draws them into a web of drug trafficking, immigration corruption, and lethal violence. The novel ends with a devastating act of violence against Annie that permanently darkens the series’ emotional landscape and establishes Burke’s willingness to inflict real consequences on his protagonist.
