The Devil in the White City Signed First Edition Reference
The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair That Changed America (Crown, 2003) interweaves two narratives: Daniel Burnham’s herculean effort to build the 1893 Chicago World’s Columbian Exposition, and H.H. Holmes’s construction of his “Murder Castle” hotel nearby, where he lured and killed an unknown number of victims. The dual structure — creation and destruction, ambition and depravity — became Larson’s signature technique.
