Craig Thompson Signed Firsts: A Reference
Craig Thompson (born 1975) is the cartoonist whose work is defined by emotional amplitude and visual ambition. Blankets (2003) — a 592-page autobiographical graphic novel about first love and leaving religion — is one of the most emotionally affecting graphic novels ever published. Thompson’s subsequent Habibi (2011) demonstrated formal mastery on an even larger scale.
