Chapterhouse: Dune (1985) Signed First Edition Reference
Chapterhouse: Dune is Herbert’s final novel, published by Putnam in 1985. The sixth Dune book continues the conflict between the Bene Gesserit and the Honored Matres, ending on a cliffhanger that Herbert intended to resolve in a seventh volume. His death from cancer in February 1986 left the Dune cycle permanently unfinished.

As Herbert’s final novel, Chapterhouse carries a particular poignancy for collectors. Signed copies represent some of the last books Herbert signed before his death. The unresolved ending — and the knowledge that Herbert’s planned conclusion died with him — gives the book a weight beyond its narrative content.
