Batman: Year One Signed First Edition Reference

Batman: Year One appeared in Batman #404–407 (February–May 1987), written by Miller with art by David Mazzucchelli. The four-issue story arc retells Batman’s first year in Gotham City, paralleling Bruce Wayne’s return to crime-fighting with Jim Gordon’s arrival as a new police lieutenant in a corrupt city.

Year One is arguably the finest Batman story ever told — tighter and more focused than Dark Knight Returns, with Mazzucchelli’s art providing a perfect complement to Miller’s stripped-down narrative. Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins drew heavily from this story.
