Aunt Julia and the Scriptwriter (1977/1982) Signed First Edition Reference

La tía Julia y el escribidor (Seix Barral, 1977; English: Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 1982, translated by Helen R. Lane) alternates between Vargas Llosa’s autobiographical account of his youthful marriage to his aunt-by-marriage (Julia Urquidi) and the increasingly deranged radio serials written by Pedro Camacho, a Bolivian scriptwriter. The novel is Vargas Llosa’s most commercially successful and entertaining work.
