Published Works
Wenders has published extensively as a photographer and essayist:
Emotion Pictures (1989) — reflections on filmmaking written during the production of his early films.
The Logic of Images (1991) — essays on cinema, storytelling, and the act of seeing.
Once (1993) and Pictures from the Surface of the Earth (2001) — large-format photography books reflecting his characteristic attention to landscape, architecture, and solitude.
The Pixels of Paul Cézanne (2015) — essays on cinema and the visual arts.
His photography has been exhibited at major galleries worldwide, and his photo books are collected as art objects.
Collecting Wenders
Wenders’s photography books — particularly limited-edition prints from Pictures from the Surface of the Earth and Once — are the most sought-after items. Standard trade editions bring $30–$100. German-language first editions of his essay collections are less commonly found in the Anglophone market. Signed material is available through gallery events and film festivals.
