Darrell Schweitzer (born 1952) is an American writer and editor best known for his co-editorship of Weird Tales magazine during its late-twentieth-century revival (1988–2007), for which he won a World Fantasy Award. He has published novels (The White Isle, The Shattered Goddess, The Mask of the Sorcerer), numerous short stories in the Dunsanian and Lovecraftian traditions, and critical studies including The Dream Quest of H.P. Lovecraft (1978) and Pathways to Elfland: The Writings of Lord Dunsany (1989).

Collecting Schweitzer

Small-press editions of Schweitzer’s fiction and criticism — published by Wildside Press, Owlswick Press, and similar imprints — are collected by enthusiasts of weird fiction. Print runs are typically small, making first editions scarce.

Signed copies are available at conventions and through specialty dealers in weird and supernatural fiction.
